INTERN TO THE CEO | 2024 - PRESENT
The Global Livingston Institute (GLI) is a nonprofit organization expanding opportunities for cultural and educational exchange between the United States and East Africa. As an intern to the CEO, I support research, student engagement, and communications projects that strengthen GLI's mission and programs.
MIRIRINI SECONDARY SCHOOL | ARUSHA, TANZANIA
Through the Africa Schools Assistance Project (ASAP), I completed 50+ hours of service helping to construct a dormitory for 120 girls at Miririni Secondary School. I worked alongside teachers, community leaders, students, and local builders, gaining a deeper appreciation for Tanzanian culture and the power of education to create opportunity.
CO-FOUNDER & CO-PRESIDENT | KENT DENVER | 2024 – PRESENT
Inspired by my experiences in East Africa, I help lead Kent Denver's Tanzania and Rwanda Clubs, bringing students together to support educational initiatives and deepen their understanding of the region. Through these organizations, I've helped engage more than 70 students in international service and cultural exchange, including organizing a technology drive that collected over 20 laptops for educational programs in Musanze, Rwanda.
LANGUAGE STUDY & INDEPENDENT RESEARCH | 2024 - PRESENT
As a fluent French speaker, I've deepened my understanding of Francophone cultures through international exchanges, university coursework, and independent study. I spent five weeks studying at Tufts University's European Center in Talloires and two weeks on a cultural exchange in Brest, France. At Kent Denver, my independent study focuses on Francophone Africa, combining language research with teaching English and digital literacy to Francophone refugees and immigrants.
